What Sephardic culture means 
It is a community with its own history, language, literature, music, religiosity and customs. Sephardics are descendants of jews from where they were ejected from the Iberian Peninsula in 1492 by the Catholic Queen Isabel, and King Fernando. Sepharad is the biblical denomination of the Iberian Peninsula. The seated in different contries, such as: Portugal, Holland, Italy, France, Greece, Turkey, Morocco, Syria, the Balkans.

There, they developed their own language and culture, enriched by the customs of people where they seated. The Djudeo Espanyol language was also born from this interesting mixed cultures.

Berta Guindin
Berta Guindin was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her musical and singing career began with Helga Epstein. At the time, she also graduated as a music teacher from Collegium Musicum in Buenos Aires. She studied ear-training with Violeta Gainza. At the time, she was part of the Music Chamber Youth Group at the Collegium Musicum, where she excelled as flutist and singer.

Then, she became interested in Sephardic music so she started studying its repertoire, chamber music, and vocal training with Eleonora Noga Alberti. She specialized in voice technique under the supervision of Dina Rot. At the present time, she continues her studies of Choral Conducting at IUNA (National University of Fine Arts).

Berta Guindin has performed in many important institutions as a lyrical singer. In 1988 she dedicated her time to the Centro Cultural General San Martin, and other cultural centers in an effort to develop musical interests in children. She also dedicated her talent in 1996 at the Library for blind people, and at CIDICSEF 2006 “Nochada Sefardi”. In 2007 she released the “Musika y Versos del Adorado Sefarad”. Following this release, she was a guest in ausgust 2008 of FLAMDEMMEX, (Latin American Forum of Musical Education), based in Mexico City. During the same year 2008, she had various other important performances such as, the Argentinian Embassy in the Dominican Republic, FLADEMAR, Latin American Forum in Salta, Argentina and the Conservatoire Manuel de Falla. She performed at the “Fernandez Blanco Museum” in the years 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2010 she also performed at “the Scala de San Telmo”, and “Casa Balear” with “Sefaridish Trade Mark Show”. She was a member of the “Coro Divertimento” conducted by Nestor Zadoff, and performed at Metropolitan Cathedral, San Isidro Cathedral and at some of the most important churches in the city of Buenos Aires and at the Amijai Community form 2007-2012. She is a member of the Nagmen Choir, conducted by Pablo Di Mario, also performing at the most important churches in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during 2012. Sephardic Music concerts during 2012 and 2013. In june 2013 she performed at AMIA, and continues to conduct beginners choirs. In January 2014, Berta Guindin toured in New York City with Nagmen Choir performing at Carnegie Hall and other exclusive Concert Halls as the Argentinian Consulate in New York. She also performed as a soloist of Sephardic Music.
