The historic Eldridge Street Synagogue, with its distinctive Moorish design, is the perfect setting for Treasures of Sephardic Songfeaturing the Gerard Edery Ensemble. Enjoy hymns of celebration, poignant ballads of loss, flamenco-inspired pieces and holy works of praise from the ancient musical repertoire of Persia, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Turkey, Morocco, Egypt, the Balkans and Syria. The members of the Gerard Edery Ensemble are: Gerard Edery (vocals, guitar), recipient of the Sephardic Musical Heritage Award; world music, classical and jazz virtuoso Meg Okura (violin, erhu, vocals); and Israeli bassist Daniel Ori.
