Mazel tov to Andrés Roemer, recipient of The American Sephardi Federation’s International Sephardic Leadership Award presented in partnership with The Phios Project (see: Mexico and Moral Courage: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Jerusalem’s Reunification & Honoring Ambassador Andrés Roemer’s Stand for Jerusalem at UNESCO), on today being named UNESCO’s Goodwill Ambassador for Societal Change and the Free Flow of Knowledge. This remarkable appointment and the awards Ambassador Roemer has recently received from the Simon Wiesenthal Center (Latin America) and UN Watch are well-deserved acknowledgments of a brave individual and the principles for which he stands.
