In Memory of Dr. David Gitlitz, A”H, Professor Emeritus of Hispanic Studies at the University of Rhode Island and Senior Advisor to our friends at the Society for Crypto-Judaic Studies. Professor Gitlitz won the National Jewish Book Award and Lucy B. Davidowicz History Award for Secrecy and Deceit: the Religion of the Crypto-Jews. He was predeceased by his wife, Dr. Linda Kay Davidson, with whom he co-authored the award-winning A Drizzle of Honey: The Life and Recipes of Spain’s Secret Jews.
