Our popular lecturer Andrée Aelion Brooks will return to tell us the story of her journey to Uzbekistan last fall.

She traveled there to better understand and explore the community known as Bukharian Jews, who initially followed trade along the Silk Road during the first millennium (and some say even earlier).

Others went as far as India for its gems, and many of those stories were first discovered in the Cairo Geniza a century ago.
