Members of the Crown Heights Sefardic community gathered in Lubavitch Yeshiva to mark the Yahrzeits of the Rambam, the Alter Rebbe, and Rabbi Yaakov Abuchatzera.
Marking the Yahrzeit of The Rambam, The Alter Rebbe, and Rabbi Yaakov Abuchatzera, a wonderful Meleva Malka took place in Lubavitch Yeshiva of Crown Heights Hall on Crown Street that was attended by many families and individuals of the Sefardic community.
The event was organized and planned by Merkaz Sefarad Chabad of Crown Heights, and was sponsored by Shimon Ben Abu, the owner of Koshertown and Cafe Rimon.
Rabbi Meir Shushan emceed the evening with many Chassidic stories and Divrei Torah. The honored guest speakers were Rabbi Mordechai Gurary and Rabbi Eliyahu Matasov who gave over inspiring speeches and personal stories.
The music was traditional Sephardic folk songs (piyutim) performed by the multi-talented duo Uri Biton and Avi Peretz.
It was a truly memorable and enjoyable evening for everyone.
The Merkaz Sefarad Chabad was established by Rabbi Liezer Avtzon, in 2007 and is led by the dynamic Rov, Rabbi Meir Shushan with daily classes in Torah and Chassidus, including separate weekly classes for women.
