At 2pm Miami time we have a unique opportunity for an inside view of the unfolding Converso phenomenon with Rabbi Gilberto Ventura, Founder of «Sinagoga Sem Fronteiras» (Synagogue Without Borders). Based in Sao Paulo Brazil, Rabbi Ventura has been assisting Brazil’s Converso communities throughout Brazil with their journey back to their Jewish roots.

We continue the fascinating discussion about the Crypto-Jewish phenomenon with Dr. Trujillo, a Catholic and a proud descendant of the Crypto Jews whose family settled New Mexico, arriving with the first pobladores (settlers) in 1598 with the Juan de Oñate expedition.

Jewish Heritage Alliance «In the Footsteps of the Jews of Sefarad» project, is the brainchild of Michael Steinberger. Michael’s interest in Sefarad was driven by his belief
that the Sefarad narrative, both historical and the present-day consequences, are not sufficiently reflected in the annals of Jewish or world history.

My great Gran father (1836 1927) was a crypto jew like many brazilian country men of his time. It has been a hidden history in the family quite randomly mentioned from mother to children.
