In Memory of Sidney Chouraqui, A”H, an Algerian-Jew, who received the Legion d’Honneur for his patriotism and bravery in defense of human rights, including organizing Jewish resistance fighters in Morocco and fighting in the battles to liberate Paris and Dachau. After WWII, Chouraqui, who passed on 3 February at 104, helped re-found LICRA (the International League Against Racism and Anti-Semitism), and also served as a founder and/or leader of the Jewish Cultural Center, Judeo-Christian Friendship, and Interfaith Coordination Committee for Israel
