jamaa_baidaMoroccan historians tended to neglect topics revolving around Moroccan Judaism until the mid-seventies when the Jewish element became essential in economic and social history. Baïda will discuss the progress and difficulties in the appropriation of Judaism as a component in the country’s history.

About the Speaker: Jamaâ Baïda is a graduate of Mohammed V University in Rabat and the University of Bordeaux III. Since 1982, he has been a professor and a researcher at Mohammed V University in Rabat. Former General Secretary of the Moroccan Association for Research in History (AMRH), he has published widely on contemporary history and current history. In 2011, he was appointed Director ofArchives du Maroc.
