CASA SHALOM-INSTITUTE FOR MARRANO (ANUSIM) STUDIES
On Sunday November 6th at 7.30 pm the director of Casa Shalom,
Mrs. Gloria Mound, will give a fascinating lecture in the Zaretsky Hall,
Ohel Nehama Synagogue, 3 Chopin Street, Jerusalem
ANUSIM ‒ New Findings from around the World:
Iberia to Ireland via France; the Caribbean:
Puerto Rico and Columbia; and even Malaysia
Casa Shalom, founded by Gloria Mound in 1988 and directed by her ever since, is dedicated to helping as many people as possible who suspect that they are descendants of Anusim, trace their roots and if they wish, reconnect to the Jewish People. In order to carry out this mission it engages in research on communities of secret Jews throughout the world. It has received applications from individuals in Spain and Portugal, North and South America, Ireland, and even such far-flung places as Singapore and Malaysia.
To that end, it organizes lectures and seminars and publishes the Casa Shalom Journal. Current research projects include an examination of the Bad Arolson archives to determine which of the Spanish nationals who were killed by the Nazis may actually have been Jewish and an examination of the evidence among French Huguenots for crypto-Jewish members.
Most important, however, is its commitment to bnei anusim today. It gives these people guidance, and where possible, helps them if they wish to qualify for a «return» to the Jewish people. It counsels those who cannot obtain verifying documentation but who ardently wish to return to the religion of their forefathers about conversion opportunities in Israel and abroad.
All of these activities are funded solely by support from our membership and donors. For more information on our activities and for membership information, please contact:
