Ladino 102 – Intermediate Language & Song
Join the Sephardic Brotherhood for our new 5 week course learning Intermediate level Ladino! This multi-week class will be primarily taught in Ladino with textual readings, plays, songs, and worksheet drills available to practice the language with peers.
Rachel Amado Bortnick is a Sephardic Jew born and raised in Izmir Turkey, now residing in Dallas. A retired ESOL teacher, she is an active promoter of Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) and Sephardic culture. In 1999 she founded the online correspondence group Ladinokomunita, presently with over 1500 members worldwide, and is featured in the 1988 documentary by Bonnie Burt, “Trees Cry for Rain: a Sephardic Journey.”
