Our annual ‘Rhodes/Cos Memorial’ commemorates the deportation of the Jews of those communities to Auschwitz on July 23, 1944. Last year’s film drew over 300 people and this year’s program promises to be another impactful and informative experience for our community.
A unique exhibit (‘Lost Voices’) and Sephardic dessert reception will precede a discussion with Professor Devin Naar of the Sephardic Studies Program (Stroum Center for Jewish Studies/UW). We will also have the opportunity to hear Cynthia Flash-Hemphill discuss her new book ‘A Hug From Afar’.
Thanks to Lela and Harley Franco; Dee Simon of the Holocaust Center for Humanity; Professor Devin Naar of the UW Sephardic Studies Program; Congregation Sephardic Bikur Holim; and Congregation Ezra Bessaroth for collaborating on this year’s program.
Please see the flyer below for further details – we very much look forward to seeing you all at the Congregation Ezra Bessaroth, Thursday July 21st at 7:00 PM.
