An NEA National Heritage Fellow, Flory Jagoda is a treasure of Ladino music and culture. Born in the Sephardic Jewish community of Sarajevo, Bosnia in 1925, Flory learned songs that had been passed down in her family for generations. She escaped the destruction of Sarajevo’s Jewish community and came to the United States after World War II. Recognized as an important carrier of a unique musical heritage, Flory also composes and arranges new Sephardic songs. A rare and wonderful opportunity.
